So, artistically, I'm starting to get the hang of it.  And I do like the effects, of adding color to the clay. It makes the blending of the clay colors so much more pleasant.  But even as I sit at the wheel, pushing and pulling and bossing a piece of clay into a cup or a bowl, my mind is on the chaos that is our society at the moment.  My hands are full of sticky clay, trying to manipulate it, and it makes me think of the world. And I just wish to the heavens that it were as easy to reform what our society is becoming as it is with clay, to reshape it and pound it back into something whole and useful-not like what it is becoming.  It is messy and when the end of all this comes, nothing will resemble any sort of whole vessel- we are going to end up with a lump that cannot hold the humanity we need.

The studio is setting up rather nicely so far!  And can I just say?!  Magic makes a world of difference!  I've enlarged two areas, one for a small living quarters so that if I don't want to leave, I don't have to.  Which is so very very nice!  And it has a tidy little bath!  And then I've enlarged the storeroom, with shelves.  On one wall, I plan on putting my greenware, on the other side, the bisque ware.  I'm going to have to get all my supplies, to mix up my own glazes and such.  But there are two great finds!   One: Mum and Da had an old kick wheel in their garage (why they have a garage is beyond me as neither of them drives!  Da uses it as his 'workshop'-Mum calls it his 'junkroom'. )  Da got this thing at a yard sale, and brought it home for me, about 18 months ago, and apparently he'd forgotten he'd even gotten it until I told him about the studio.  It's perfect really!  Brilliant!  And I can add a spell or just use my own feet to make it work.  I'm still getting things together but I can't wait to try it!

The next find was the kiln. That was a bit trickier.  I've bought one, and I'm on the payment plan.  But I think it should work fairly well.  So, the basics are covered!  Onto making my form of cups and teapots and bowls!

I've got happy news to report!

After much negotiation...okay, call it pestering, the owner of the illustrious Pedrus Pridgeon's shop has decided to rent me the space above to use as a studio! I'm so excited! It all happened by chance. I went in to look at the puppies..and then the kittens, and the owls and we got to chatting every time I came in. Mr. Pridgeon is friendly enough fellow, and I think I must have lamented more than once about trying to find someplace to work on my art and then he just offered it to me!

I will be able to set up a small cot in a corner, with a little kitchen area, just in case I work late into the night but its mine! For a very reasonable price as well, I might add. Its so wonderful to share some good news with people, especially after everything that's been going on.

Dear friends, I was thinking about having a small gathering or party, if people think its a good idea...? I mean, its not so much, but he says I can use some spells to make it more roomier, and I love the idea of having another party. I mean, the last one was almost a month ago!

Hey you. How are you? Did you have a good trip? I swear I haven't been avoiding you..much.

I would love to visit Harley sometime, if you wouldn't mind?

    Hello?

I just bought this book today, and it seems to be ideal as a journal.  I will have to put my list of things I am working on up here.

But, to begin with, I need to find a place to live.  I love my parents but I might go mad living with them again.  so, if you are thinking of finding a flat, please write to me here.

I am also looking for studio space, available for a reasonable expense.  I appreciate all suggestions.

And if someone knows Meghan Mccormick, could you please pass on a message to her?  I haven't spoken to her in too, too long.

Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and seek out your dreams.... )
